Pediatric Surgeon Opportunity with Bon Secours in Richmond, Virginia

Bon Secours Medical Group is hiring a Board-Certified Pediatric Surgeon to support St. Mary's Hospital in providing surgical care to pediatric patients ranging from newborns through teenage years. St. Mary's Hospital is a 391-bed facility in Richmond near the West End. Located on St. Mary's Campus, this clinic offers care to children of all ages. St. Mary's has a dedicated pediatric emergency department, as well as inpatient pediatric intensive care, neonatal intensive care, and general pediatric units. A Social worker is shared across pediatric specialty practices.

Position Includes:

Collaborating with other pediatric providers to diagnosis and determine if surgery is necessary. Manage and perform preoperative, operative, and postoperative care. Provider would have a mix of patient appointments and surgical time. Procedures can include Appendectomy, Biopsy, Pyloric Stenosis, Hernia Repair, Cholecystectomy, I&D, device implants (gtube, VAD, etc.), Tracheotomy, exploratory lap, bowel resections. The Surgeon will receive referrals from our internal pediatric programs (Peds ED, Primary Peds, Pediatric Specialty Clinics, NICU, Inpatient Peds & PICU).

The Pediatric Surgeon will have the opportunity to participate in growth initiatives as St. Mary's has a robust adult surgery program and pediatric specialty program. Available teaching opportunities include the Family Residency program, Pediatric Dental Students, and sharing knowledge with community providers through Pediatric Roundtable Lectures.

•Call Rotation 1:3

•Clinic Hours Monday- Friday | 12-15 patients per day

•Flexible Schedules with Full day of OR block time or 2 ½ days of block time in addition to 2 full days of clinic
