Join Bon Secours Mercy Health as a Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner at our brand-new, state-of-the-art Stratford Hills Urgent Care, opening in Q1 2027 in Richmond, Virginia. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the founding clinical team, helping launch a modern, purpose-built facility designed with the latest technology, streamlined workflows, and an exceptional patient experience in mind.
As a FT provider, you'll deliver high-quality, patient-centered care for a wide range of non-emergent illnesses and injuries while working alongside a collaborative team of experienced medical assistants and front-office staff. Our urgent care centers are open 7 days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., offering flexible scheduling and the chance to make a lasting impact from day one in one of Richmond's newest and most innovative urgent care clinics.
Urgent Care Scope of Services
- Walk-in access to high-quality, non-emergency care
- Occupational medicine services, including workers' compensation, return-to-work evaluations, and pre-employment physicals
- On-site diagnostic services, including laboratory testing, X-rays, and EKGs
- Seamless coordination with primary care and specialty providers as needed
What We Offer

- Competitive guaranteed base compensation - salary is determined by years of active FNP or PA experience and includes 36 hours. Does not include premium pay, bonuses, or stipend programs.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive care for walk-in patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of urgent care needs
- Perform procedures such as suturing, splinting, I&D, and wound care as appropriate
- Collaborate with medical assistants and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and excellent service
- Provide patient education and ensure clear communication around care plans
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
- Support the Primary Care Virtualist Program during periods of available capacity as needed.
Qualifications
Mandatory:
- Current and unrestricted Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in Virginia.
- Active DEA license
- A minimum of two years of active FNP/PA experience
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical setting
- Must be comfortable seeing up to 60 patients as sole clinic provider during peak cold and flu seasons.
Preferred:
- Experience working as FNP/PA in Urgent care, emergency medicine, or family medicine.
- In lieu of specialty experience, Bootcamps are available and must be completed prior to starting.
- DOT Certified or ability to obtain
- BLS (minimum) or ability to obtain
Work Hours
Full-Time: Three 8a - 8p shifts per week with rotating weekends.
- Week 1: 0745 - 2000 M, W, Sa
- Week 2: 0745 - 2000 Su, Th, F
Schedule Example:
Rotating Holidays
- At minimum, one market clinic will be open on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day with normal hours. All other clinics (if open) will close at 5p. However, all providers, regardless of clinic, will be expected to provide rotational coverage.
- All clinics will have normal operating hours on New Years Eve, New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving Eve.
