Certified Nurse Midwife Opportunity in Petersburg Virginia
We are seeking a compassionate, team-oriented Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our Women's & Children's program. This role offers a balanced inpatient and outpatient practice, strong interdisciplinary collaboration, and opportunities to contribute to program development and maternal health initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pregnancy consultation and management, including prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care
- Perform and interpret advanced fetal imaging and ultrasound
- Deliver inpatient consultative support for Labor & Delivery and triage
- Manage 25-30 outpatient visits daily
- Coordinate care and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests; prescribe treatments per Virginia regulations
- Educate and support patients and families
- Respond to patient calls and electronic messages; ensure completion of referrals
Additional Duties
- Participate in 1:4 call rotation (OB, L&D, triage)
- Engage in quality improvement and program development initiatives
- Optional involvement in staff and provider education
- Opportunity for expanded inpatient or Labor & Delivery roles
- Approximately 4 hours of administrative time weekly
Qualifications
- Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM)
- Eligible for Virginia licensure
- Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
- Interest in ultrasound and consultative care preferred
