Mercy Health is seeking an experienced physician leader to serve as Program Director for our ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency. Based at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center and the Gandy Family Medicine Center in Toledo, this full-time academic position offers the opportunity to shape the next generation of family physicians within a mission-driven health system committed to serving a diverse patient population.
Role Highlights
- Full-time academic leadership position with clinical practice responsibilities
- Oversight and administration of the Family Medicine Residency Program
- Direct mentorship and supervision of residents and faculty
- Collaborative leadership to maintain ACGME accreditation
- Outpatient and inpatient clinical responsibilities
- Involvement in community engagement and health equity efforts
Core Responsibilities
- Lead curriculum development, faculty recruitment, and program evaluation to ensure excellence in education and patient care
- Maintain program accreditation and oversee continuous quality improvement
- Coordinate faculty and resident evaluations and performance reviews
- Participate in recruitment, selection, and onboarding of residents
- Collaborate with institutional leaders on strategic and financial planning
- Serve as liaison among faculty, residents, and hospital administration
- Prepare and submit required documentation and reports for program compliance
- Represent the program at institutional and GME committee meetings
Qualifications
- Board certified in Family Medicine
- Minimum of five years clinical experience
- At least three years of experience in graduate medical education (teaching or administrative)
- Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Ohio
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
