Opportunity Overview
Bon Secours Employer Services is seeking a Full-Time Physician (MD or DO) with medical director experience and a strong interest in physician leadership to support our Employer Services clinic across the Bon Secours Mercy Health ministry. This role offers a unique blend of hands-on clinical care and meaningful leadership responsibility within a mature, highly respected occupational health program.
Physicians in this role enjoy a true weekday schedule with no call, nights, weekends, or holidays, allowing for exceptional work-life balance. Opportunity Highlights
- .6 clinical FTE (~24 hours per week.) employed physician role
- To see patients at our Newport News and Chesapeake clinics
- PRN float to Richmond
- Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- No nights, weekends, holidays, or call
- Scope of care includes:
- DOT physicals
- Various administrative physicals - pre-employment to immigration services
- Drug and alcohol screening
- Occupational injury and illness treatment
- Physical Rehabilitation
- Immunizations/vaccines: Influenza, Hep B, Tetanus, Tdap, MMR, Varicella
- Workers' compensation and occupational injuries
- Respirator, hazmat, and fitness-for-duty exams
- Acute injury care, musculoskeletal exams, and laceration repair
- On-site X-ray
- Dedicated clinical support including RN, LPN, CMA, and X-ray technologist
Leadership & Medical Director Responsibilities
- .4 FTE (~16 hours/week) for all regions Employer Services Medical Directorship
- Occupational Health
- Onsite employer clinics
- Associate Health
- Serve as Certified Medical Review Officer (MRO) for drug screens or obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire
- Provide mentorship and clinical oversight including collaboration/supervising responsibilities for all APCs across the health system.
- Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia, and South Carolina
- Guide Designated Employer Representatives (DERs)
- Support program growth through strong employer relationships and high-quality care
- Lead clinical quality and process improvement
- Provide strategic growth and expansion of Employer Services across the markets in areas where we have Employer Services.
- Driving clinical excellence across all markets
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, FMCSA, DOT, CDC, LEO, and NFPA 1582 guidelines
Candidate Qualifications
- Licensed MD or DO - required
- Background in Occupational Medicine, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Urgent Care preferred
- Medical Director experience preferred
- > 5 years of experience in Occupational Health and/or Employer Services
- DOT, Civil Surgeon, and MRO certification required or ability to obtain
- Interest in leadership and program development
- Visa sponsorship not available (No J-1 or H-1B)
