Mercy Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner to join our Cherry Grove Urgent Care clinic in Cincinnati, Ohio. This position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
As part of our urgent care team, you will manage a wide range of non-emergent illnesses and injuries while working alongside a supportive staff that includes medical assistants and front-office team members. Our urgent care clinics are open 7 days per week from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m., providing consistent scheduling and the opportunity to build strong connections with both patients and colleagues.
Urgent Care Scope of Services
- Walk-in access to high-quality, non-emergency care
- Occupational medicine services, including workers’ compensation, return-to-work evaluations, and pre-employment physicals
- On-site diagnostic services, including laboratory testing, X-rays, and EKGs
- Seamless coordination with primary care and specialty providers as needed

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive care for walk-in patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of urgent care needs
- Perform procedures such as suturing, splinting, I&D, and wound care as appropriate
- Collaborate with medical assistants and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and excellent service
- Provide patient education and ensure clear communication around care plans
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
- Support the Primary Care Virtualist Program during periods of available capacity as needed.
Qualifications
Mandatory:
- Current and unrestricted Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in Ohio.
- Active DEA license
- A minimum of two years of active FNP/PA experience
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical setting
- Must be comfortable seeing up to 60 patients as sole clinic provider during peak cold and flu seasons.
Preferred:
- Urgent care, emergency medicine, or family medicine experience
- DOT Certified or ability to obtain 60 days after starting
- BLS (minimum) or ability to obtain 60 days after starting
Work Hours
Full-Time: Three 8a - 8p shifts per week with rotating weekends.
Schedule Example:
Week 1: 0745 - 2000 Tu, W, Sa
Week 2: 0745 – 2000 Su, Th, F
Holiday Expectation
Only 3 out of our 9 clinics will remain open on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. 1 of the 3 clinics will remain open with normal business hours while the other 2 will close at 5p. However, all providers, regardless of clinic, will be expected to provide rotational coverage.
All clinics will have normal operating hours on New Years Eve, New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving Eve.

Mercy Health Cherry Grove Urgent Care – Cincinnati, Ohio
Located at 454 Ohio Pike in Cincinnati's Cherry Grove area, Mercy Health Urgent Care, Cherry Grove offers providers the opportunity to practice in a busy, community-based urgent care setting while benefiting from the resources and stability of the larger Mercy Health network. The clinic is open seven days a week from 8 a.m.–8 p.m. and features onsite X-ray and laboratory services, allowing providers to evaluate and treat a broad range of acute illnesses and minor injuries in one convenient location.
